I’m still learning….
As a professional photographer I truly believe that no matter how good you are there is always room to learn new things and to be inspired by other photographers work. I also think that if a professional photographer gets to complacent with their work then it gets flat and starts to all look the same from wedding to wedding.
It had been a few years since I went to any kind of workshops without having to go to a big convention and travel long distances, so when I found out about Susan Stripling’s workshop here in Annapolis I jumped on the opportunity to learn and grow from such a great photographer. Most of the time photo workshops are just big infomercials about how good “X” is and how busy they are with very little actual knowledge being passed on… This workshop was far different. This workshop was held at a local photographers home, and it only had a small handful of photographers there rather than the hundreds that would be there at a convention. Susan, of course gave us about fifteen minutes on the history of her business and style, but then it was right into the nuts and bolts of the day. There was lots I already knew, but I also learned a few new tricks, and got to meet and hang out with some of the areas best photographers which is always fun.
We also got the chance to work with some great models and stylists!
Thanks to
Amie Decker of Amie Decker Makeup for doing such a great job of styling the models!
Our bride model – Stephanie Swillet!
of course the truly, madly in love like no other couple I have ever seen – Sara and Jonathan!
