I went through the tens of thousands of images that we photographed last year and picked some of my favorites to post up and have a little contest…

So here is how it’s gonna work. I have picked three images from each wedding. You may have gotten an email about the contest with a link to the post, but this contest is certainly not limited to only our couples and our email list.  If you are a new visitor to the blog, please place your votes also so one of these couples can win the big prize.  Also, couples, please send your friends so they can vote to!

The rest is easy!  Scroll through the images and write down your favorite 5 images. Yes that’s right, five images. That way the couples can vote for their own images (of course..lol) and two others from any other wedding. Above each photo there will be a number. Simply jot the numbers down and  enter them into the email form at the bottom of the post and click the send button. The contest will run until February 13th. Then I’ll post the winning image. The winning images couple will win a fantastic prize…. bragging rights!

Just kidding. The winner will win a very cool, 10×20 framed spread from their wedding album, or a collage spread of up to five images from their wedding. The frame is a beautiful black wood frame with a complimenting matte for the spread.

Here are the images!

2009 Toys for Tots toy run.

Posted by Jamie under Personal

One of the things I enjoy in my personal life is my car… my 2006 Dodge Charger R/T.  I am also involved in a great car club of fellow mopar enthusiasts out of southern Maryland.  We have rather large get togethers three or four times a year with about 60 cars from all over the region showing up to show off their stuff and to hang out with friends.  The BEST get together we have every year is our Toys for Tots toy run.  The organizers of the group get together with local businesses and collect bins of toys to give the US Marines reserve to distribute to kids around the area.  I am very proud to be a part of this group and to be able to use my skills as a photographer capture the fun and giving that only a bunch of car guys can do.   Below is a little video of this years drive.  You’ll see a 15′ box truck near the end of the video… We filled that sucker full of toys… which was literally several hundred, possibly a thousand toys.

We are honored to have been chosen as a  “The Knot Best of Weddings 2010 Pick”

This honor was voted on by you, the brides and grooms who love our work.

Thank you very much, and look forward to great images this season!

I lifted this from Beckers blog with his permission of course. :-)   I feel exactly the same way as he does about Haiti.

From his blog:

Like the rest of the world, my heart is heavy for the situation in Haiti right now. The images I’ve seen via Twitter and CNN have been so moving and I wish there was more that I could do. It’s incredible to see how generous people have been and I love that technology has made it even easier to donate money to help those who’ve been affected by this tragedy. Almost immediately after the earthquake hit, you were able to text “Haiti” to 90999 to instantly donate $10 via your phone bill.

While I think everyone should at least donate $10 via the text method, if you are able to donate more, Apple has made it easy to do so through iTunes. If you already have an iTunes account, the already have your credit card number, so it just takes a few seconds and a couple of clicks to donate more much needed money. Click here to donate through iTunes:

It’s good when people can put politics aside and come together in times like this:

Thirst Relief International has been a charity that the photo industry has been involved with for a few years now, and they are passionate about providing people with safe, clean drinking water… which is something that is necessary for sustaining life and something we certainly take for granted in America. Haiti is in desperate need of clean water and you can make your donation though Thirst Relief here:

Mashable also published a guide on how to help in Haiti. Please share this post and please, please, please, at the very least… text “Haiti” to 90999.

T-shirt of the day…

Melissa and Mike’s engagement session!

Melissa and Mike are getting married in May and we got together last weekend to grab some shots for their engagement session.  They are getting married in Baltimore, but they wanted to take a stroll through downtown Annapolis for their E-session.  Annapolis is great place to shoot with all the small nooks where you can shoot, and while walking around we found some new off the wall spots to shoot so it was fun for me to try some new things.

Katie and Walt’s engagement session!

Katie and Walt are getting married next July, and they wanted to get their engagement session in sooner than later so we met up and did the session at Walt’s families dairy farm near Belair.  The cows were so friendly and fun to photograph with. I think they wanted their photos taken more than Katie and Walt and I had the pleasure of my first experience with an electric fence..LOL

Alison and Ben’s day after session!

Alison and Ben were married back in September  (photos) and it had to be one of the wettest days of the year.  We all had high hopes of great weather so we could go all over downtown DC and shoot, but with the rain we were confined to indoor shooting.  The indoor stuff was great, but it really wasn’t what we wanted so we decided to go out for a day after session and get the shots we really wanted to get.  It took almost a month of rainy Saturdays and juggling Ben’s flight schedule to get the session in but the weather was perfect for the shoot and we got some great shots that will look great in their album.
One other cool thing about the DA session was getting to walk all over the mall and have people saluting Ben, clapping for the couple and lots of congratulations and thank yous being said.

Enjoy the photos!

Mieka and Kieth’s engagement session!

Mieka and Kieth decided to have their engagement session at the beautiful National Harbor in DC.  From the awesome Gaylord National hotel, “the Awakening”, and cool shops and grounds you can’t help but find a great place to shoot.  Having a gorgeous couple so in love with each other to shoot is always a plus!

Enjoy!
